NO CREDIT CHECKS ON STUDENT LOANS

CREDIT CHECKS on federally guaranteed student loans will affect students on the lower end of the economic scale, whose means to higher education are student loans.

Laid-off workers whose credit rating deteriorates after being unemployed will be penalized twice: once by losing a job, and second for a bad credit rating from being unemployed.

Education should be available to everyone, regardless of economic or credit standing. For some people, the only way out of poverty is an education. People should urge their congressmen not to support these credit checks. DEBORAH FORD BLACKSBURG
