FRANKLIN MAN GETS 50 YEARS FOR RAPE OF STEPDAUGHTER

A Franklin County dairy worker has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter.

Circuit Judge B.A. Davis III handed down the sentence Thursday after reading in a background report that the teen-ager claimed she was attacked three times.

The man - who is not being named to protect his stepdaughter's identity - admitted to attacking the girl once in August, but denied other assaults.

The man was arrested in December and later pleaded guilty to one count of forcible rape.

He was being held at the Franklin County Jail awaiting transfer to the state prison system.
