JURY SELECTION STARTS IN TEEN'S MURDER TRIAL

Jury selection got under way Monday in the capital murder trial of Shawn Novak, a high school student accused of killing two younger boys who lived in his neighborhood.

Novak, 17, entered a plea of innocent as the case opened under intense security in Virginia Beach Circuit Court. Novak spoke only to answer the judge's questions and was unable to remember his social security number.

The bodies of Daniel W. Geier, 9, and Christopher Scot Weaver, 7, were found in a wooded area with their throats slashed last March.
