GROW, VIRGINIA W.

Virginia Wright Grow, age 79, of Roanoke, died Monday in a local hospital. She was the daughter of the late O.S. and Mabel Collins Wright, Roanoke and was the widow of Virgil Byron Grow, Jr. Mrs. Grow was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Town and Country Garden Club, the Thursday Morning Music Club, the Raleigh Court Book Club, and the Roanoke Valley Historical Society. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Virgil Byron, III and Lynn Grow, Madison, N.J.; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Grow and Rolvix Harlan Patterson, Smithfield, N.C.; five grandchildren, James Byron Grow, Schuyler Edwards Grow, Amanda Blessing Grow, John Byron Patterson, Dr. Rolvix Harlan Patterson, Jr. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Beverley officiating. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Steeles Tavern, Va. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke.
