RADFORD BASEBALL TEAM LOSES 1ST GAME

Gerard Lambert's grand slam in the sixth inning lifted Holy Cross to an 8-7 college baseball victory against Radford on Tuesday at Dedmon Center Park.

It was the Highlanders' first loss in five games.

Lambert's homer off Radford reliever E.C. Krevonick decided a see-saw game in which the Highlanders led 6-4 going into the sixth inning.

Designated hitter Phillip Haney hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning to give the Highlanders their short-lived lead, and the Crusaders held off a Radford rally in the ninth.

Jerome Fuller was 5-for-5 for Holy Cross, and Donnie Just and Haney each had two hits for Radford. Staff report
