RADFORD - Robert Lee Viars, age 84, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 1992 at his home in Radford. He was a retired cabinet maker. Survivors include his wife, Louise R. Viars, Radford; two sons, Ed Viars, Radford and Ted Viars, Salem; one daughter, Norma Jean Perdue, Radford; four half-brothers, Buster Viars, Tenn.; Bud Viars, Dublin; Bentley Viars, Cambden, S.C.; and Vintes Viars, Atlanta, Ga.; five half-sisters, Beulah Nester, Dublin; Lillie Saul, Portsmouth, Josephine Turpin, Norfolk; Mabel Guthrie and Shirley Bransford, both of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-granchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the West View Cemetery in Radford with Rev. Glennard Quesenberry officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New River Valley Hospice, 1805 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
