A Southwest Virginia Governor's School Science Consortium will be held at New River Community College March 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.

It is the first of what is planned as an annual program for students to demonstrate science research projects they have developed during their course of study.

The exhibits will be set up the day before the public program.

Awards will be announced at 10:45 a.m. in Rooker Hall's auditorium.

Winners will take their projects to the Blue Ridge Highlands Regional Science Fair April 4 at Wytheville Community College.

The two top award recipients from the regional fair will take part in the 43rd International Science & Engineering Fair May 10-16 in Nashville, Tenn.
