LYNCHBURG SCHOOLS DOMINATE VIC SOUTH

Lynchburg schools placed five players on the All-Virginia Independent Conference Southern Division boys' high school basketball team, with three Roanoke schools getting one selection each.

The three Roanoke players on the nine-member team are North Cross' Marcus Cardwell, Roanoke Valley Christian's Jason Delong and Roanoke Catholic's Scott Sartini.

Lynchburg Christian's Richard Gifford was named Coach of the Year, while Holy Cross's John Laneve was tabbed Player of the Year.
