GET CONCERNED ABOUT PORNOGRAPHY

NO TOPIC needs the attention of citizens of this nation more than pornography.

Some interviews with persons convicted of rape show that these crimes were committed after the arousal of sexual desire through viewing pornographic material.

At first the viewer is totally ignorant of the effect this material could have. After a time, he often begins to fantasize about performing violent sex acts. And in many cases, the fantasy eventually becomes reality.

The enemy would like for us to keep our mouths shut while our women and little children are being victimized. But God has given each of us a brain to know the difference between right and wrong, and a will to stand up for what is right.

We should visit businesses that sell pornographic material and ask them to stop. If they refuse, we should boycott them.

We have not only the right but also an obligation to protect our women and children and help in any way possible to prevent sexual abuse from happening to our loved ones. DIANE SIMPSON ROANOKE
