NAVY PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS LLOYD E. ERICKSON, son of Neva R. Erickson of 1905 Dale Ave., recently returned to Virginia Beach with Fighter Squadron 31 after a seven-month deployment to the Mediterranean and Red seas.

Erickson's squadron embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal in May, 1991, and participated in routine operations. The squadron also supported the Kurdish relief effort by taking part in more than 900 flights into northern Iraq providing tactical reconnaissance and combat air patrol.

Erickson is a 1986 graduate of Salem High School.

\ PVT. SHADRACH D. BRINCHFIELD, son of Sylvia A. Hubbard of 1917 Rorer Ave. S.W., has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

He is a 1990 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

\ NAVY SEAMAN APPRENTICE REBECCA L. GUILLIAMS, daughter of James M. and Doris A. Guilliams of 2928 Hollowell Ave. S.W., recently completed recruit training in Orlando, Fla.

Guilliams graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1991.

\ STAFF SGT. JESSIE LEE BELLFLOWERS, a 15-year Army veteran and native of Roanoke, Instructor of the Month for January at Aberdeen Prooving Ground, Md.

Bellflowers, a graduate of William Byrd High School, is a wheel-vehicle repairer instructor assigned to Headquarters Company, 143rd Ordnance Battalion.
