Robert E. Mullen, Sr., age 96, of Roanoke, died Thursday in a local hospital. Surviving are his wife, Anna Mullen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. (Virginia J.) Mullen, Jr., Roanoke; Mr. and Mrs. John H. (Marilyn K.) Mullen, Merrimack, N.H.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (P.O. Box 76, Salem, Va. 24153). Arrangements are by Oakey's South Chapel.
