John Trusty Adams, Jr., age 80, of Stratford Park Dr., S.W., died in a Roanoke hospital Thursday. He was a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church for 52 years and retired in 1974 from the N&W Railway as Manager of Pricing. He was a life member of Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge #324, a member of York Rite, Scottish Rite, Kazim Temple, a member of the Patrol and was High Priest of the Royal Lodge. He was a member of the Delta Nu Alpha fraternity. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Rowe Adams. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Rowe Adams, Roanoke; son, John T. Adams, III, Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Janet Adams McPherson and Patrick McPherson, Smyrna, Ga.; sister, Frances Adams Ragsdale, Morrow, Ga.; five grandchildren, Michelle Adams Nolen and husband, John Nolen, Tracy Adams, Sean McPherson, Susan McPherson, Kimberly McPherson. Funeral services will be conducted at the crypt, Ferncliff Abbey in Evergreen Burial Park, 2:00 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Walter M. Lockett, Jr. A Masonic cryptside service will be conducted by Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge #324. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel Friday, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
