2 COVINGTON PLAYERS MAKE ALL-PIONEER

Tony Jeter and Ramon Sampson, who helped lead Covington to the regular-season and tournament championships, are on the All-Pioneer District boys' basketball team.

Natural Bridge and Highland also had two players on the team selected by the district's coaches. Natural Bridge sophomores Marty Early and Joey Carter are on the squad along with Highland's Micah Ginn and Shaun Harvey.

The rest of the team includes Craig County's David McPherson, who was Timesland's second-leading scorer with a 26.8 points per game, Lexington's Gavin Clark, James River's Solan Wooden, Bath County's Todd Jenkins and Parry McCluer's Leslie Gray. - Staff report
