SPACE BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM AT TECH

"Space: The Final Frontier for U.S. Business?" is the topic of the first Virginia Tech symposium on short-term profits, research and development and U.S. competitiveness.

The March 27 symposium, sponsored by the Center for Commercial Space Communications, will focus on the business of space and the commercialization of space technologies.

The free program will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Squires Student Center's Haymarket Theater. A reception will follow.

Panelists will be Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Abingdon, chairman of the House Science Subcommittee; Don Ritter, R-Pa., of the House Science and Technology Committee; Ron Greenwood, president of Nichols Research of Huntsville, Ala.; John Koehler, vice president of Hughes Aircraft of Los Angeles; Dave McSweeney, senior associate with Chase Manhattan Bank's project finance group; and David Thompson, president of Orbital Sciences Corp. of Fairfax.
