EX-SEN. WILLIAM FEARS LOSES JUDGESHIP BID

It took two tries Thursday, but Senate Democrats had a change of heart and dumped former Sen. William Fears' candidacy for a Circuit Court judgeship on the Eastern Shore.

"This is it. I had my last hurrah," said Fears, 71, a flamboyant Democrat who represented the Eastern Shore for 24 years until his defeat last November.
