FORGETTABLE? NOT BY EVERYBODY

I BELIEVE I have determined the criteria used by Mark Morrison in picking his "forgettable" songs (Extra section, Feb. 25):

Performers did not rattle windows five blocks away.

Singers were not "strung out" on dope or alcohol.

Performers were dressed neatly.

Lyrics did not promote violence, murder, suicide or rape.

Lyrics did not contain an obscenity in every line.

As for being "forgettable," they certainly have not been forgotten by those of us who hum or whistle the melodies every day. LEONARD NESTER ROANOKE
