But this does not cover all forms of aid overseas. The U.S. government supplies grants, loans, credits, equipment, technology and virtually everything imaginable - and our leaders regularly forgive enormous debts owed by other nations. These debts aren't considered foreign aid, because they are supposed to be paid back.
In addition, money taken from the American people is poured into an array of international banks and lending institutions - the International Monetary Fund, the African and Asian Development banks, the Export-Import Bank. More money goes to a variety of United Nations agencies. There is even a form of foreign aid supplied by the Agriculture Department's Commodity Credit Corp.
It all amounts to taking money by force from Americans and giving it to others, a completely unconstitutional abuse of power. HOPE A. MEADOR ROANOKE
