Mrs. Dorothy Griffith Rife, age 87 of Salem, died Friday, March 6, 1992. She retired from the N & W general offices after 45 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Rife. She is survived by a nephew, Bobby L. Griffith, Va. Beach; great-nephews, David L. Griffith, Salem; Patrick Griffith, Mark Griffith, both of Va. Beach; great-nieces, Cythia G. Hutcheson, Julie G. Leach, both of Knoxville, Tenn. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. J. W. Hatton Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem.
