Bill Cosby and his ever-expanding fictional family taped their final show Friday night, ending eight years of unprecedented success for "The Cosby Show" with a few tears and a lot of laughs.
"This has been the best, this night and the whole eight years," gushed Phylicia Rashad, who played Clair Huxtable, the attorney wife of Cosby's character, Dr. Cliff Huxtable. "Like climbing to the peak of Mount Everest."
Cosby is moving on to become a co-host of a new syndicated version of Groucho Marx's old quiz show "You Bet Your Life." Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who was son Theo, is working on a pilot for a new show, as is 6-year-old Raven-Symone, who played Olivia.
The final "Cosby," titled "And So, We Commence," ends with the fulfillment of Cliff's dream: seeing his son graduate from New York University. The special one-hour episode airs April 30.
