LOVERN, WOODROW G. Mr. Woodrow Garland Lovern, age 79 of Roanoke, died
Saturday, March 7, 1992. Mr. Lovern retired from the Norfolk and Western
Railway in 1976. He was preceded in death by his father, Grover P. Lovern, his
mother, Macy Lovern and a brother, William (Bill) Lovern. He is survived by
his wife, Virginia Iddings Lovern; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth
Lovern, Roanoke; David W. and Sandra Lovern, Vinton; Robert P. and Iris
Lovern, Stewartsville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca E. and Henry
Cooper, Roanoke; Betty L. and Jerry Fink, Roanoke; Shirley A. and Darryl
Taylor, Roanoke; Bonnie M. Lovern, Lynchburg; seventeen grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; three sisters, Addie Hunt, Salem; Irene Meadows, Roanoke;
Frances Wilmer, Roanoke; four brothers, Lewis Lovern, Roanoke; Lawrence
Lovern, Moneta; Ralph Lovern, Montvale; James Lovern, Roanoke and a number of
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton
Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 1992 with the Rev. Gene M. Hagenberger
Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at
Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00
and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday.
