COUGARS' BURNS VOTED ALL-REGION IN BASKETBALL

Pulaski County's Chris Burns was the only Roanoke Valley District player to make the All-Northwestern Region boys' basketball team announced Monday.

Coaches picking the team pointed out that because of the voting in the Roanoke Valley District, no member of the Patrick Henry team, ranked No. 1 in Virginia, was eligible to make All-Northwestern. RVD coaches did not pick a PH player first team and only those making their district first teams are considered for regional honors.

Pulaski County's Kevin Alexander, the RVD player of the year, was a second-team choice.

Coaches representing the RVD were Patrick Henry's Woody Deans and Pat Burns of Pulaski County. FIRST TEAM
