EX-CAV MORGAN LEAVING CBA

Former Salem High School and University of Virginia basketball star Richard Morgan has been placed on the suspended-reserve list of the Rockford (Ill.) Lightning of the Continental Basketball Association.

Mark Alan, director of broadcasting and public relations for the Lightning, said Morgan unexpectedly left the team over the weekend and indicated he would join a team in Saudi Arabia.

"He had hinted to me that he might do this," Alan said. "He had recently scored a season-high 25 points, but his minutes were scattered and in some games he didn't play at all."

Morgan averaged 8.7 points in 35 games for Rockford.
