$101,000 BUDGET PROPOSED FOR LAKE

The Wythe County/Rural Retreat Lake Authority has proposed a $101,000 budget for the coming year, with $37,500 requested from the county and $8,000 from Rural Retreat.

The rest of the revenue would come from profits generated by facilities at the lake complex.

Its restaurant and store are to be turned over to a private contractor, after the authority renovates the kitchen to meet health regulations at a cost of $5,000.

The biggest cost will be $15,000 for work needed on the leaky swimming pool. Another project, costing $3,500, would upgrade 20-year-old campground wiring. Rental for the 12 campsites would then be raised. - Southwest bureau
