RVD DOMINATES ALL-NW REGION GIRLS

The Roanoke Valley District is dominant on the All-Northwestern Region girls' basketball team with four of the six first-team selections.

Regular season and tournament champion Cave Spring is represented by center Lisa Hodges and guard Kim Stewart, a junior who is the only non-senior on the first team.

The other two first-team RVD choices: Pulaski County forward Cindy Martin and guard Terri Garland. The squad is completed by Gar-Field's Jenni Linthicum and George Washington of Danville's Dione Smith.

There are only four-second-team choices, all underclassmen. The only RVD player on second team is William Fleming junior Marqueetta Randolph. Other second-team selections are Amanda Frazier and Kenzer Cohen of Albemarle, and Cessy Sullivan of Gar-Field. - Staff report
