ARTS COUNCIL PLANS PUBLIC MEETING AT NEW RIVER VALLEY MALL

The New River Arts Council will sponsor a public meeting to address issues concerning arts in the valley Sunday at 2 p.m. in the community room at New River Valley Mall.

Ed Schwartz, president of the council, said the purpose of the meeting is to provide opportunities for people to take an active role in developing a focus and direction for arts.

So that organizers may prepare handouts, those planning to attend should call the council at 381-1430. Also, Schwartz said the council welcomes comments and ideas on local arts. The mailing address for the New River Arts Council is P.O. Box 767, Christiansburg 24073-0767.
