Mrs. Mabel Dillon Cobb, age 91, passed away Wednesday in a local nursing home. She was the widow of the late Howard F. Cobb, Sr. and a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Dillon of Fincastle. Mrs. Cobb was born March 24, 1900 in Fincastle. She came to Roanoke in 1919 and worked at MacBaines, N. W. Pugh Co., and Leggetts Department Store. She retired from Leggetts in the early 1970's. Mrs. Cobb was a member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star (Electa Chapter #33). Surviving are a son, Howard F. Cobb, Jr., Crofton, Md.; a brother, George Dillon, Fincastle; nephews, nieces and many friends. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after 9:00 a.m. Friday where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Walter M. Lockett, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions may be made to Greene Memorial United Methodist Church (402 Second Street, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24016) or to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation (Roanoke/Salem Chapter, ADRDA, P.O. Box 5014, Roanoke, VA 24012).
