CENTER GETS CORNING GRANT

The Voluntary Action Center of Montgomery County and Radford received a $750 grant from the Corning Foundation in support of its "Kids Who Care" projects.

The contribution will allow the center to continue its summer youth volunteer program as well as to promote youth volunteerism throughout the year.

The Blacksburg-based center, founded in 1971, recruits and refers volunteers to more than 60 social service agencies and groups. It is in the Wesley Foundation Building and open weekdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information, call Alison Limoges at 552-4909.
