VMI WINS MARDI GRAS AWARD 3 YEARS STRAIGHT

For the third year in a row, the VMI Regimental Band has been awarded the Harry Mendelsohn Plaque as the best military band in the Mardi Gras' feature parade in New Orleans.

The 60-man VMI band, under the direction of Maj. John Brodie, held a prominent spot in the three-hour Endymion Parade before an estimated 1 million spectators.

There were eight military bands in the parade.
