OBIT-HOY, M.

Maude Cummings Hoy, age 98, of the Virginia Synod of the Lutheran Home, died Thursday in a local hospital. She was formerly of Boones Mill. Mrs. Hoy was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ira D. Hoy. She and her late husband were both charter members of Boones Mill Church of Brethren. Surviving are six children, Earl W. Hoy, Wilmington, Del.; Jesse D. Hoy, Marianna, Fla.; Mrs. Robert E. (Doris) Kinzie, Salem; Harold C. Hoy, Virginia Beach, Mrs. Jackson H. (Katherine) Metcalf, Roanoke; Helen H. Johnson, Roanoke; one brother, T.E. Cummings, Boones Mill; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel 2:00 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren, Boones Mill, Va. 24065. or your favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Oakey's South Chapel.
