OBIT-TOMLINSON, R.

Robert D. (Bob) Tomlinson, age 81, of Roanoke died Wednesday. He was a faithful member of Melrose Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and on various other committees. He also served as Choir Director at Ridgewood Baptist Church. Mr. Tomlinson was retired from Peacock-Salem Launderers and Cleaners with 35 years service. Surviving is his wife, Gladys V. Tomlinson; three children, Jeanne T. Pratt of Roanoke; J. Robert Tomlinson of Salem; Richard E. Tomlinson of Vinton; one sister, Grace T. Rumburg of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Services will be from Oakey's North Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. R. Bruce Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sancuary Building Fund, Melrose Baptist Church. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Friday where the family will receive callers from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
