STUDENT PILOT LANDS AT LIBERTY U. LOT

A student pilot safely landed his single-engine aircraft on a Liberty University parking lot Thursday after the plane ran out of fuel.

Police said William O'Donnell, 49, of Virginia Beach intended to land in Farmville but got lost and ran out of fuel.

Members of the Lynchburg Christian Academy baseball team practicing near the parking lot said the plane narrowly missed a teammate's head.
