RICH VALLEY - Mrs. Lucille McCarty Buchanan, age 90, widow of John Lee Buchanan, Sr., died Saturday, March 14, 1992 in Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Va. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her son, John Lee Buchanan, Jr. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Katy Kays, Mount Airy, N.C.; Mrs. Virginia Green, Chilhowie, Va.; two grandchildren, John Lee Buchanan III, Rich Valley; Carolyn Buchanan VanHorn, Portland, Ore.; one great-granddaughter, Mega VanHorn, Portland, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Leah Bonham Buchanan, Marion, Va. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Jones and Rev. David McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
