CLEVELAND, OHIO - Mr. Winfred Herbert Smith, age 54 of Cleveland, Ohio, and formerly of Franklin County, died Sunday, March 8, 1992, in Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lee Smith. Surviving are his mother, Bertha Mills Smith, a brother and sister-in-law, Terry L. and Peggy Smith, all of Rocky Mount; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Major and Mary S. Branch, Bassett; Doug and Vickie S. Altice, Carolyn S. Altice and Gary Dent, all of Rocky Mount; two special aunts, Hilda Altice, Rocky Mount; Sallie Sexton, Roanoke. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 1992, at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Irvin W. Sloan. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
