LADY HOKIES' OSBORNE NAMED ALL-TOURNAMENT

Virginia Tech freshman forward Christi Osborne was named to the All-Metro Conference Tournament team, it was announced after the championship game Saturday night at Louisville's Freedom Hall.

Osborne, the only freshman on the team, had 34 points and 14 rebounds in the Hokies' two tournament games, which included a first-round upset of third-seeded UNC Charlotte. She played 78 of a possible 80 minutes.

In a semifinal loss to Southern Mississippi, Osbourne matched her career high with 20 points, had seven rebounds and five assists.

Osborne, a unanimous selection to the Metro's All-Rookie team earlier in the week, is the first freshman to earn all-tournament honors for the Lady Hokies. - Staff report
