TECH GOLFERS 10TH IN FLORIDA TOURNAMENT

Virginia Tech finished 10th in the 18-team field at the Pepsi/USF Invitational golf tournament at the University of South Florida.

The Hokies, led by freshman Brian Sharp, shot a team score of 302 on Saturday and finished with an aggregate score of 901. Sharp shot 74 and finished 14th individually.

The University of Central Florida, led by medalist Hans Strom-Olson, won the tournament with an 871 total, two shots better than Kansas.

Other Tech golfers and their scores Saturday were Clayton Friend, 74; Lewis Conner, 76; and Scott Rardin, 78. - Staff report
