JONES, GEORGE W. ROCKY MOUNT - Mr. George Willie Jones, age 83 of Route 2, Rocky Mount, died Sunday afternoon in Franklin Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Jones was born February 3, 1909, in Franklin County, the son of the late Tommy Fine and Maude Turner Jones. Mr. Jones was a retired farmer and a member of the primitive baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Davis Jones, of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald Jones, David and Robin Jones, all of Rocky Mount; one daughter and son-in-law, Georgia Ann J. and A. L. Gravely, Jr., also of Rocky Mount. Survivors include five brothers and two sisters, Jesse Jones, Thomas Jones, Walter Jones, Roy Jones, Herbert Jones, Ida J. Law and Frances J. Reynolds, all of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren, Travis Jones and Rhonda Brunette; and one great-grandchild, Joshua Brunette. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 18, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. from Lynch Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Lane Carter and the Rev. David Greenawalt officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 17, 1992, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Lynch Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be considered for the Fork Mountain Fire Department and Rescue.
