HOPKINS, NELLIE F. PARROTT - Nellie Ford Hopkins, age 84, died Saturday in
a Radford hospital. She was the widow of Grim R. Hopkins and was preceded in
death by her daughters, Shirley Jean Hopkins and Lucille Harris. Surviving are
a daughter, Viola Akers, Radford; four daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and
Tommy Ratcliffe, Radford; Lois and Clarence McCann, Christiansburg; Lotus and
William Williams, Lola and William Jennelle, all of Roanoke; a son-in-law,
Everette Harris, Christiansburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Grim and Lou
Hopkins, Wytheville; W. C. and Elizabeth Hopkins, James and Jeannie Hopkins,
all of Parrott; a brother, Jack Ford, Roanoke; four sisters, Eliza
Southerland, Parrott; Evelyn McCoy, Belspring; Metta Lovern, Radford; Marcia
Page, Orlando, Fla. Twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-four
great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the
Parrott United Methodist Church with the Rev. C. W. Huff and the Rev. W. O.
Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Sifford Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
