MENOPAUSE IS FOCUS OF LEXINGTON SEMINAR

The Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington will hold a two-day lecture seminar on "Mastering Menopause" at the Rockbridge Regional Library on March 24-25 Trundle from 7-9 p.m.

The seminar will be moderated by Betsy Trundle, associate of the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Trundle also will discuss the importance of attitude and lifestyle in living younger after menopause.

Drs. John Harralson and Laura Stephenson of Stonewall Jackson will address the latest developments on the medical aspects of menopause. The Tuesday lecture is "Anticipation and Reality of Menopause," which will include a discussion of the myths of menopause, women's perceptions as well as the physical and hormonal changes that occur in menopause. Following is "Menopausal Zest: Getting it and Keeping it," a discussion of attitude, exercise and good nutrition.

The Wednesday lecture will discuss the pros and cons of hormone replacement therapy. The program will conclude with a short slide show on looking good after menopause, which explores the options for women in skin care and cosmetic surgery.
