OBIT - WARREN, R.
Mr. Ralph L. "Turk" Warren, age 89, died Tuesday morning at his home in
Saltville, Va. He was a retired works auditor for the Olin Corporation. Mr.
Warren served as treasurer of the Town of Saltville for many years. He was a
member of William King Lodge 227 A.F. & A.M., a charter member of the
Saltville Kiwanis Club and treasurer of the Saltville Golf Club. Mr. Warren
was a graduate of Saltville High School where he played on the first football
team of Saltville. He was an avid sportsman and supported the local teams. He
was a member of Madam Russell United Methodist Church. He was the treasurer of
the Alkali Baseball Team. Mr. Warren was born in Warrensville, N. C. and at an
early age, moved to Saltville. Surviving are two sisters, Ms. Marion Warren,
Saltville, Va.; Mrs. Robert Hannemann, Wytheville, Va.; nine nieces and one
nephew. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at the D. R.
Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Roy Snapp officiating. Burial will
follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday
evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va. In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madam Russell United Methodist
Church.
