WYTHE COUPLE GUILTY OF DISTRIBUTING DRUGS

A Wythe County couple have been convicted of distributing illegal drugs to a minor.

David Wayne Bell, 30, and Cheryl Bell, 36, both of Speedwell, received 10-year sentences for distributing drugs to a person under age 18. Six years of his sentence were suspended, leaving four to serve. All of her sentence was suspended but she was placed on active probation for eight years.

David Bell also was convicted of misdemeanor possession and distribution of marijuana and given a 15-month jail sentence, which will run concurrently with his prison time. The Bells were arrested as part of an undercover operation carried out by the Tri-County Drug Task Force.
