ANDREW, SARAH COOL DESPITE BREAKUP RUMOR

Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York kept their cool Wednesday as journalists barraged them with questions about their reported impending split-up.

Buckingham Palace refused to comment on reports in the Daily Mail and other newspapers that the duchess, the former Sarah Ferguson, was determined to separate from Prince Andrew, the second of Queen Elizabeth II's three sons.

The Daily Mail said reports about a friendship between the duchess and wealthy Texas oilman Steve Wyatt had brought marital tensions to a head.

The newspapers said the duchess, reported to be depressed, was expected to get custody of the couple's two daughters, 3-year-old Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who turns 2 on Monday.
