Mrs. Maggie Peters Montgomery, age 97 of Route 1, died Wednesday, March 17, 1992. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joel H. Peters and John L. Montgomery; two sons, Joel H. Peters, Jr., and Howard Peters; an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Raymond Bowman; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and four stepchildren. Surviving are seven daughters, Pauline Bowman and Irene Fisher, Covington, Ohio; Etheleen Montgomery and Annie Montgomery, Wirtz; Florence Peters and Virginia Bryant, Roanoke; Frances Boothe, Pleasant Hill, Ohio; two sons, David Peters, Rocky Mount; Dennis Peters, Pinehurst, N.C.; four stepdaughters, Ruth Peters, Rocky Mount; Esther Jamison, Roanoke; Lois Denlinger, Lewisburg, Ohio; Rachel Beckner, Wirtz; two stepsons, Joseph Montgomery, Moneta; Daniel Montgomery, Wirtz; 33 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; 45 stepgrandchildren; 131 stepgreat-grandchildren; 20 nieces; 23 nephews; 139 great-nieces and nephews; 76 great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Oak Hill German Baptist Church by the Home Brethren. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Lynch Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. Thursday where the family will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Flowers are omitted and friends desiring to do so may make memorials to a Rescue Squad of their choice.
