MONTGOMERY COUNTY SUPERVISORS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BOARDS

Montgomery County's Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for service on the Planning Commission or Zoning Appeals Board.

Applicants must be county residents. Letters of application must be submitted by May 15 to: Betty S. Thomas, county administrator, P.O. Box 806, Christiansburg, Va., 24073.

The Planning Commission appointment is for four years. It meets on third Wednesdays and holds joint hearings with the Board of Supervisors on fourth Mondays. The commission advises supervisors on such day-to-day planning activities as zoning requests and guides the county in long-range planning.

The Zoning Appeals Board appointment is for five years and is made by Kenneth Devore, Montgomery Circuit Court judge, based on a recommendation from the supervisors. The board meets as-needed to hear appeals of decisions on county zoning.
