Town Manager Don Holycross said the problem is related to the two-inch galvanized line that serves the area. "We identified this replacement as a high priority water system improvement project and appropriated $40,000 for the project," he told Town Council Tuesday.
An eight-inch line will be built along 15th Street from Randolph Avenue to Prospect Avenue. Lines must be at least six inches in diameter to be used with a fire hydrant, so this improvement will allow hydrants to be installed on the line and increase area fire protection.
