2ND CHURCH REPORTS WEEPING STATUE

Water reportedly appeared on the face of a carved wooden statue of the Virgin Mary at Our Lady of Angels Church while the Rev. James C. Bruse celebrated Mass there.

The Roman Catholic church is the second to report a "weeping statue" incident connected to the priest.

Bruse has been associated with reports of weeping statues at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Lake Ridge.

He was taking his regular turn at saying Mass for 450 schoolchildren at Our Lady of Angels on Tuesday when the statue appeared to weep tears.

"I saw the tears from the chest and I saw the tears on her face," said Nicole King, 11. "It was kind of weird. Some of my friends were kind of crying."

Bruse, who has not been speaking to the media for nearly a week, could not be reached. - Associated Press
