PRINCETON TOPS UVA IN LACROSSE

Taylor Simmers had five goals Wednesday to lead third-ranked Princeton to a 15-13 men's lacrosse victory over sixth-ranked Virginia.

Simmers scored twice as the Tigers (3-1) outscored the Cavaliers 5-1 in the first 10 minutes of the third quarter to break open a close game. Tor Marro also scored and assisted on another goal as Princeton went ahead 13-8.

The Tigers led 15-10 before UVa (2-2) scored the final three goals of the game.

Perry Frazer had four goals for Virginia, and Kevin Pehlke and Ray Kamrath added three goals each. - Staff report
