FUNDS HANKY-PANKY LATEST TRIVIA ISSUE

THE MOST important issues ever faced by this country and its electorate are being submerged by the latest trivia issue, that is that members of Congress have been playing fast and loose with their own available funds, and have been for some time. Ho-Hum.

Since the Congress is weighted with Democrats, I suspect they will be in the majority in this questionable activity. I further suspect that no more perfect device could be conceived by a vengeful Republican administration to alleviate its time in a very hot spotlight.

Of course, we can look forward to months and months of House ethics investigation and findings, and all the while, the ship continues its voyage straight down.

Write your congressman supporting the move to go public. Then let him go back to work, and for the time he may have left, at least try to earn that paycheck many of us no longer have. PETER C. MILLER WYTHEVILLE
