CHURCH-WEEKS, GLADYS V.

Mrs. Gladys Veda Church-Weeks, age 77, formerly of 1606 Lawrence Ave., S.E., went to be with the Lord Wednesday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and foster mother. For many years, she had been a dedicated worker with the Southeast Branch of the League of Older Americans. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Church, Sr.; her son, Denver L. Church; her brother, Ray Ross. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, William C., Jr. and Bonnie Church, Selma, Ala.; Frederick M. and Rosie Church, Springfield; E. Clarence Church, Roanoke; Edward L. and Ruby Church, U.S. Air Force, Italy; her daughters and sons-in-law, Zetta C. and DeMont Rose, Salem; Anna C. and Albert Weeks, Roanoke; Patricia C. Evans, Roanoke; Linda C. and Charles Epperly, Roanoke; two brothers, Wade Ross, Greenville, Tenn.; Raymond Ross, Marion; a sister, Eva Haga, Fenton, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Gene Haga; three sisters-in-law, Retta Ross, Mary Ross, and Lucille Ross, Big Island; 30 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and foster children. Funeral services will be conducted from Lotz Roanoke Chapel 12:00 noon Monday, March 23, 1992 with Rev. I.W. Sloan officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel anytime Saturday or Sunday.
