FERRUM - John Auburn Bowles, age 79 of Ferrum, died Thursday morning, March 19, 1992 in a local hospital. He was born January 9, 1913 in Franklin County. Surviving are three brothers, Amos Russell Bowles, Rocky Mount; Lewis Herman Bowles, Radford; Herbert Bowles, Ferrum; one sister, Roxie B. Williams, Roanoke. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 1992 from the Lynch Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jack Corn with interment to follow in the Bowles Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Lynch Funeral Home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be considered for the Ferrum Rescue Squad. Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount is in charge of arrangements.
