VIEWERS GET THEIR MTV IN BRISTOL

Sammons Communications and MTV have reached an agreement to restore the music video network as part of the basic cable package in Bristol and three other cities.

Sammons dropped MTV when its contract with the network expired Jan. 1. The change prompted weekly picketing at Sammons' office in Bristol, Tenn. Rock singer John Mellencamp gave a free concert in Johnson City, Tenn., last month as part of the protest.
